I have had pets and loved animals of all kinds my entire life. My life changed in 2007 when I went out to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in KanabÜtah to visit and volunteer. I saw the incredible, amazing work that is being done out there with the care and rehabilitation of homeless dogs to enable them to lead fulfilling lives and find their forever homes and realized then that caring for animals and making a difference in the lives of dogs and their owners through training and education was what I was meant to do.I adopted my sleep-over dog, Sedona, a lab/pit mix who had been living in the desert with her mother and siblings and brought her home from Utah. We went to basic and intermediate training classes and I saw her confidence grow (as well as my own) and her spirit come to life with each new cue that she learned. I knew then that I was going to be someone who would help both dogs and people transform their lives and strengthen their bond through training, as well as work to keep dogs out of shelters and help those that do not have homes to find and stay in their forever homes.
In April of 2009, I opened my own pet care business, Peace of Mind Personalized Pet Care Solutions and also began studying at Animal Behavior College to be a Certified Dog Trainer. I was fortunate to have been mentored by Bette Yip who has been an inspiration with her innovative and effective positive reinforcement training methods. I began team training with Bette and quickly moved into the role of teaching classes independently along with fellow trainers who have also worked with Bette. I am extremely passionate about my role as a dog trainer as I know I am making a positive difference in the lives of both the dogs and the people that I work with to build a lasting bond that will last a lifetime.
